PLEASE DO NOT TRADE WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
Please make sure that in the future they will not be able to scam you again.
FuturePerfect Festivals is on the list of events under Durham Students Union Council (with the same Address: Durham Student Union, Dunelm House, Durham, DH1 3AN - Tel: 0191 334 1811 ) events and it's somehow related to The University of Durham.
All looks to me like it was all carefully planned not to pay for outstanding invoices and all steps were taken delibratelly to put all creditors into a position they have to accept what is left from bad management.
Why we should take a responsibility for lack of management skills, and deliberate purchases knowing they would not be able to accept the liability.
I wonder how it is possible that University of Durham could allow a company (probably created just for this purpose) FuturePerfect Festivals Ltd to use the email address from the University network and scam companies.
Below you are be able to familiarise yourselves with all correspondence necessary and letter received that company is going to be liquidated or/and all credotors will be paid just a small percentage of what FuturePerfect Festivals owes them. Also some usefull information about the Company registration and Mr Gareth Owen, the director links that all.

I have received a letter from them saying the following:
Dear Sirs
Outstanding account
Following the festival we have now collated the figures for the preparation of draft interim accounts to clarify our position. We have also sought advice on the action we should take.
A copy of those figures attached for your reference.
As can be seen, the numbers attending did not generate sufficient funds to meet all the liabilities, but we are anxious to maximise the amount received by our suppliers.
The company has not traded since the festival and no monies have been paid out since then.
Although our course of action is ot be the formal liquidation of the company we are aware that that will involve significant costs, which will only reduce the funds available to meet creditors' claims.
In view of this we would propose a more informal solution to maximise the funds available for distibution. We would therefore propose the interim distribution of the funds currently collected on a pro rata basis as detailed in the attached list of creditors.
A secondary distribution would be made upon successfull collection of the outstanding debtors, again on pro rata basis.
We have been adviced that this proposal may only be implemented if it has the full support of ALL creditors. We would therefore request your agreement to this proposal and ask to indicate your consent by signing the attached copy of this letter and returning it to us as soon as possible.
We regret that if we do not obtain the necessary concent of 100 % of creditors, we have no option but to formally liqidate the company.
Recipient (FuturePerfect Festivals Ltd) exceeded 20 days time for a response.

Hi, here is what I received from University of Durham:
Thank you for your email and for flagging up some apparent difficulties with an organization run by University students. I am really sorry if you have experienced difficulties. While I am happy to accept that FuturePerfect may not have operated well, and may have lost money, it is not the scam you allege. The whole aim of the festival was to raise money for local charities and not a penny went, for example, to the students who set up FuturePerfect – they gave their time for free and the University’s only input was to allow FuturePerfect to use our grounds and some of our expertise for free as part of our contribution to local good causes.
Student Community Action (which established FuturePerfect) is an independent charitable organization run by some of our students to help raise money for local charitable community causes. It is not part of or under the control of the University. I am sure you appreciate that University students are adults and therefore, like the rest of us are free to set up their own organizations and businesses. Indeed, they are encouraged to do so to help their education and the economy of Durham, Stockton and the North East. Not all new businesses, whether run by students or not, necessarily flourish.
Nevertheless, I am very concerned that FuturePerfect may have done something to disadvantage local traders. This is particularly unfortunate because, as you know, SCA does so much local good by raising large sums of money for local community charities each year and gives a lot of student time to local community projects. While the activities of FuturePerfect are not the University’s formal responsibility, I would certainly like to see if there is anything we can do to make amends or at least to prevent this happening again.
FuturePerfect is an organization independent of the University and I have therefore not been party to its business or accounts. Could you please give me a while to look into the issues and accept that this might take a little while as many of the students involved are probably not in Durham at the moment?
With thanks and best wishes
Chris Higgins
BUT still nothing from FuturePerfect Festival. At least someone in the University is going to be involved in finding a solution, I hope.

Hi Geoff. Is there any progress on local newspaper investigation about Student Union, Durham uni and FuturePerfect? If you knew anything please post it here.
Dear Geoff, I have sent an email to University Of Durham authorities and they are now aware of what happened and promised to look into the issues. I also have provided a list of creditors for them to see how big it really is.
The cheques we recived for the deposit payment were from Durham University, all emails were from a Durham Uni Email account and all the contact details were based at the Student's Union. Now we have been ripped off to the tune of nearly £11,000.00. Because of Gareth Owen, Future Perfect and his associates at Durham University and the Students Union. Because of their actions we will now be forced to make redundancies within our company. We hear he is getting married next week, so maybe we should all turn up and drink his champagne. We strongly reccommend that no artist, supplyer or contractor have anything to do with Gareth Owen, Durham University or its Students Union.
